The new paseo makes a real estate investment in Palamos and the surrounding area even more attractive.

The 3 km long promenade that connects the harbour and the centre of Palamos with Sant Antoni de Calonge is the calling card of Palamos and is currently being thoroughly renovated. Here you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea and it is a popular place for locals and tourists to walk, cycle, enjoy the beach or have a drink on a terrace.

In order to meet the new demands of this time regarding mobility, sustainability, architecture and also to accentuate the attractiveness of Palamos as one of the most unique places on the Costa Brava, it was decided to carry out a major renovation of this boulevard.

This renovation will also take the image of Palamos to another level, making investing in real estate in Palamos even more interesting.

Key details of the new boulevard

Fewer visual and physical barriers.

The wall that currently separates the promenade from the beach will disappear and be replaced by 2 steps; this will allow access to the beach along the entire length of the promenade and in some places it will be made even easier by the presence of wooden decks on the beach.

A number of access roads from the centre in the middle of the boulevard will disappear and make way for wide pedestrian zones/ramblas type.

This will also create more space for cultural activities.

Bike path

To improve the mobility and safety of cyclists, a separate cycle path is being constructed. Other cycle paths are also being created at a number of other locations in Palamos. A number of charging stations for electric bicycles are also being provided on the boulevard.

Parking for cars

The existing parking on the left and right side of the road will be replaced by diagonal parking spaces on one side of the road. The number of charging points for electric cars will be expanded.

The large paved car park on the beach close to the harbour will remain.

The parking lots on the beach itself will disappear to eliminate inconvenience for beach guests.

The loss of these parking spaces is compensated by the creation of a large car park at the new Palamos bus station and a large car park at the new port; access to the latter car park is facilitated by a public lift between the port and the centre above.

Planting and architecture

The many existing trees, which provide very pleasant shade in the summer, will be retained and will be alternated with planters with native plants to reduce water consumption.

In a number of places, adjacent to the boulevard on the beach, islands with dune vegetation are provided to remind us of the original state of the beach of the bay of Palamos.

The typical white columns that gave the boulevard its own character will also be retained.

Conclusion

The renovation, which is scheduled to be completed in the 2nd quarter of 2026 and will cost 7 million Euros, will give the Palamos boulevard a more chic and modern look while maintaining some of its very distinctive features such as the many trees, white columns and the space it offers for outdoor activities.

It will make Palamos more attractive as a place to invest in real estate.
